— FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions homeowners ask us most.
Organized by topic, so you can find the answer without waiting on hold. Can’t find yours? Just give us a call.
Cost depends on your existing electrical service, the capacity your home needs, and the scope of the upgrade. We’ll assess your setup and give you clear, upfront pricing before work begins.
Not necessarily. An older fuse box, frequently tripping breakers, planned EV charger, remodel, or increased electrical demand are all good reasons to have your panel evaluated. We’ll help you determine what your home actually needs.
The difference is how much electrical capacity is available to your home. Whether 100 or 200 amps is right for you depends on your calculated electrical load, existing service, and future plans. We size the system based on your home rather than assuming bigger is always better.
In most cases, yes. We handle the required permitting and inspection as part of your installation.
Often, yes. It depends on your home’s existing electrical capacity and the charger you choose. We evaluate your setup first and let you know what’s actually needed.
It depends on your vehicle, daily driving, charging speed, and plans for future EVs. We can help you choose a Level 2 charger and charging setup that makes sense for your home.
Yes. We install Tesla and other major Level 2 EV chargers and make sure the circuit and electrical setup are properly sized for the charger you choose.
Sometimes. A subpanel can add breaker space, but it doesn’t increase the total electrical capacity available to your home. We’ll evaluate your existing service and determine which option makes sense.
A breaker can trip because of an overloaded circuit, short circuit, ground fault, or another electrical problem. If the same breaker repeatedly trips, have the circuit evaluated rather than continuing to reset it.
Flickering or dimming can have several causes, from a loose connection or overloaded circuit to an issue elsewhere in the electrical system. If it happens regularly or across multiple rooms, it’s worth having it checked.
It could be a tripped breaker or GFCI, a failed outlet, a loose connection, or another circuit issue. If resetting the appropriate breaker or GFCI doesn’t restore power, have the circuit evaluated.
Yes. A warm outlet, burning smell, sparking, or discoloration can signal an electrical problem that needs prompt attention. Stop using the outlet and contact a licensed electrician. If there is smoke or fire, leave the home and call 911.
Recurring electrical problems, warm or discolored outlets, flickering lights in multiple rooms, or older wiring such as knob-and-tube or aluminum are reasons to have your electrical system evaluated.
Its presence doesn’t automatically mean your entire home needs rewiring, but its age, condition, modifications, insulation, and current electrical demands should be evaluated by a qualified electrician.
Electrical costs depend on the type of work and what’s required to complete it safely and correctly. We provide clear pricing based on the actual scope of your project or service call.
We offer free estimates for planned projects such as panel upgrades, rewiring, EV charger installations, and remodel electrical. Troubleshooting and diagnostic service calls are billed separately.
You’ll hear from us the same day to discuss what’s going on and our earliest availability.
